Steering Team 2:  Content Storage, Transmission & Distribution

Objective:   To develop useful definitions and guidelines for the successful storage, transmission and distribution of 3D content

Priorities:

• Prepare use cases and requirements for the specifications related to the uncompressed digital interface to 3D displays
• Define and develop use cases for transmission of 3D content
• Monitor and liaison with standards bodies for successful communication of efforts and ensure useful and complimentary work

Activities & Deliverables: 
System Framework Diagram - identifying all distribution channels for 3D content. Surveying members for prioritizing.

Minimum Requirements Document - to lead members in defining the overall 3D distribution channels and their common requirements, and the requirements for the 3D display interface.

Consumer Use Cases - develops use cases for the minimum requirements document

TV/Monitor & Format definitions -determining common language for further develoment

Standards Bodies & Liaison Relationships - surveyed members and identified standards development organizations where they are participating. Have led the effort to formalize liaison relationships with these SDOs.

Meetings: Majority of meetings are held via teleconference, approximately every two weeks.  Meetings are also held during the Consortium’s Quarterly meeting. Ongoing communication is provided through members-only web-based collaboration as well.
