3D@Home Launches First Consumer WebsiteNov 24, 2010The 3D@Home Consortium today announces 3DUniversity.net, a website designed to give consumers an unbiased source of useful information about 3D HDTV, monitors, Blu-ray® players, cell phones, cameras and camcorders and related eyewear, 3D content sources, as well as a database of 3D movies and special events -- everything needed to get a great 3D experience in their homes. 3D@Home Consortium and MPEG IF Publish Glossary on 3D Video QualitySep 2, 2010The 3D@Home Consortium and the MPEG Industry Forum (MPEG IF) today announced the release of a new glossary of terms for providing a common language for discussing, identifying and improving the subjective quality of stereoscopic (i.e. 3D) video. Over 235 terms are defined within this comprehensive glossary, targeted at 3D videographers and their crews, post production, and test facilities. It is designed to facilitate their communication on the many distinctive aspects of digital production, testing, encoding and compressing, when considering three dimensions rather than just two. 3D@Home Informal Survey Finds Consumers Getting Good 3DTV ExperienceJul 27, 2010The 3D @ Home Consortium, a not-for-profit organization led by 40 3D industry leaders, has conducted an informal survey of first time 3DTV buyers. The aim was to assess their buying behavior and their experience in setting up and viewing 3D. While the sample is small and the survey was conducted on an informal basis, the results are quite instructive. Overall, these early purchasers are happy with their 3D experience in the home.
